MY CAREER PLAN
The goal for my career is eventually to be a BSC (British Society of Cinematographers) certified director of photography. Although this is the goal, I am aware that the road to that achievement will be a long one, but one I am determined to make in order to be successful in my chosen field.

The first step I am planning on taking after I complete my degree is to get into a graduate-level entry job. A film production assistant to a creative director would be a perfect entry-level job. It would allow access to on-set experience and engagement whilst also getting an insight into the work that goes on off-set such as shot planning, research and scheduling.

My career aspirations would be to spend my life working on films as a cinematographer or as a director of photography. To be given the visual creative freedom over a story and to create worlds that are cinematic masterpieces.
I hope to have the ability to look back at the body of films I worked on over the years with the knowledge that each of them somehow helped to do something positive - To give someone the experience when everything just suddenly clicks, and you sit there in awe of what you are watching, knowing that, without a doubt, this film has changed your life. If I can create that experience for just 1 person, I will have completed my purpose. That is my biggest aspiration of all.

MY ACTION PLAN
My strengths in filmmaking most certainly lie in the visual and cinematic side of production. I have a talent and an eye for shot choice and visual creativity this comes as a development from my photography. This is also the side of watching a film that most interests me and I feel that it is the most contrapuntal element of film. My ability to story tell through visuals alone is perhaps my strongest asset.

My flaws and weaknesses affect me just as much as my strengths. Perhaps my biggest weakness is my organization and ability to fully focus on a task, this is most likely down to my ADHD but even when medicated it is something I struggle with. Leadership is also something that I really need to build skill in, although I have been director a couple of projects now, I struggle to accurately articulate what I want from a team without being extremely forgiving.
